Hi everyone.
Here is the problem

I have a win2k server. and I am trying to run some scheduled jobs. I can run them manually. And usually they will run when scheduled. The problem is everytime I do a reboot of the server, the jobs dont run, manually or automatically. I have to reset the password for the account that runs the jobs. How come it does not remember the account pwd. Is there something I am not aware of? Is it a glich in the win2k scheduled service. Any info would be helpful. thanks

I've had the exact same problem, and I know it sucks! Do you have IE version 5.* ? If so, upgrade to 6.*. I found it hard to believe, but "scheduled tasks" are a part of IE!! Hope this works for you! If not, post back.

Yes I have IE6 installed. I notice that I read something in microsoft help. It had mentioned that after a reboot. The password would have to be reset unless the account was under the admins group. I am not sure if it meant local or domain account. So is that saying that lets say I create an account thats not a member of local or domain account, everytime server reboots, password has to be reset?

Thanks, Any suggestions on this matter will be greatly appreciated

Ok, I had the same exact problem reoccur. When I upgraded to IE6, it was fixed... until lately. Out of the blue, here it is again. This occurs on all of my tasks, not just one. I have them "running as":
\\mycomputername\administrator
I'm at sp3 (still leary of sp4). I got tired of babysitting this nuisance. So I called in the help of perl.
I'm sure you could do this in other languages. I just run a script at startup to delete all tasks & reconfigure them. I still use the same user account and no problems!
