I have a network scan configured(all PC's are managed) for Wednesday nights at 11:30.
Most of the scans are run as scheduled, but a hand full of PC's are running at scattered times, according to SSC logs. I have actually seen a log say that the last scan was run on July 27, 2002!!! We are running the SET TIME command from within a login script, and all dates and times on PC's are correct.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.

If the user shuts off the machine at night it wont be able to run the scan. I would set the machine to scan five min from now so you can see if it runs or not.

Check it out and let me know.

Cassaro, thanks for the quick response. i think my biggest concern is that some of the PC's are scanning PRIOR to the scheduled time. The scan should run tonight at 11:30, but some ran last night. I also have the one PC reporting a scan in July of this year. If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.

Also were these pc's setup for there scheduled scan at the pc or were they setup from the server using Symantec System Center (SSC)? Chuck

SSC client schedule is set for Wednesday night. This should cover all PC's, shouldn't it? If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.

It should but you may want to check the propertys of the ones in question. It could be that they were deleted from the server group which cleared the scheduled scan then SSC re-located them and added them back to the group without the schedule.
If the propertys show that it is still scheduled at the correct time you may wish to remove the software from the pc's and delete them from the server group. Then reinstall the software on the pc's and set your schedule for them again. Chuck

Scheduled scans are set in SSC with a handle missed event window. So if a computer is turned off at 5 pm and schedlued to scan at 11 pm, it will try and run a scan the next morning.
