Hi,

I am trying to schedule several DTS packages, 4 in total. One works perfectly. Three do not. The DTS packages run and successfully complete but when I either schedule the job, or manually kick off the job it immediately fails.

I have tried this from remote and server locations. I am the DB Owner and the owner of both the Job and DTS package.

Right click on the Job that was created and choose "View Job History". Click on the "Show Step Details" and then report back what errors you are recieving when you manually fire off the job as well as the errors when the job is started based on its scheduled time.

Thanks

I believe that when you run a DTS from a SQL Statement or by Executing it manually you will be running it LOCALLY, where as SQL Server JOBS run on the SERVER machine.

It may just be a case of permissions !!!

Ahh.. this sheds some light...

Executed as user: *****. DTSRun: Loading... DTSRun: Executing... DTSRun OnStart: DTSStep_DTSCreateProcessTask_1 DTSRun OnError: DTSStep_DTSCreateProcessTask_1, Error = -2147024891 (80070005) Error string: Access is denied.

****I removed the user name. It is a service account on our domain. It has admin rights to the machine as well as the DB. SQL Server and SQL Server Agent start under this account.

I wonder what is giving this access is denied.

Thanks for the help!

Is this the message you pulled from the Job History?

Thanks
