Hi All,

I am using Arcserve 2000 WE. When I schedule a Job to run the status of the job goes from "READY" straight to "DONE" without backing up anything. When I manually start a job it runs fine and backs up ok, it is only when I schedule. Has anyone any ideas as to why this is happening? I have service packed everything right up to date.

Thanks in advance

Jamie

Are there any messages in the Arcserve log or in the job detail log?

thats the strange thing, there is no mention of the job or any errors at all in any way in arcserve log or event viewer with full logging capabilities turned on.

HI,

stop the job engine...

rename 0000001.qsd.

restart job engine..

create new scheduled backup job.

hope this helps

cheers

Hi All,

Thanks for all your responses. I discovered what was the problem, there was a funny process running called "dbclean.exe". It was taking up loads of cpu usage and also would not let arcserve backup anything. As soon as I terminated this process arcserve came alive and all is now well. Thanks again everyone.
Out of interest, does anyone know what "dbclean.exe" does? I could'nt find any documentation on it.

Cheers
Jamie
