I scheduled a report in BO XI R2 and getting the following error message. "address error. CrystalEnterprise.Smtp: (501)"

I configured the SMTP in reportjob server. Same setup is working fine for CE 10 in another server. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
Assuming you Enabled and Configured the SMTP destination, then check the Email address it is trying to use..Does it need authentication before your Mail host will accept it?

I gave the Email Address in the Report -> Schedule -> Destination.

Hi,
Have you confirmed that it is a valid address ?

If you have a default set of parameters configured on the server..Destination..smtp section, does that one work?

Able to schedule reports after making the "From" address in both SMTP configuration and in report destination similar. But this is not the case with CE 10, it runs successfully even if the from address are different.

Hi,
When using a different From: address, is it a valid Email address..Some mail hosts will reject mail from non-existant addresses...

From memory I had the same arror mssg and found that I had to configure the SMTP settings to the following 4 servers:

1) Destination Job Server
2) Reports Job Server
3) Web Intelligence Job Server
4) Program Job Server
