Hi,

I am trying to schedule macro in Scheduled Task - Windows 2000 Server.

It is not working. Do I have to call macro through a batch file ?

I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Thanks.

Hi,

I run all of mine like so:

C:\PROGRA~1\Cognos\cer2\bin\runmac32.exe "N:\InfoServices\DWG\Cogapps\Macros\Fieldlink\Status Change Report.MAC"

Note: I need to use quotes with the file paths when they have spaces in them.

what you have to write in Start In field?

Because I tried your way but it is still not working.

Until recently I managed to run Macros through Windows 2000 "Scheduled Tasks" using the SYSTEM account.
"Scheduled Tasks" - "Advanced" - "AT Service Account" (make sure this is set to "System Account".
Then create an old-fashioned AT schedule:
at 07:00 /every:M,T,W,Th,F cmd /c C:\Macro\ACL.MCX

This worked until SP4 got installed...

These tasks now return 'Could not start'

The above could maybe help those not yet on SP4.

Does anyone have an idea how to get this working post SP4.
When scheduling an MCX like that, my process explorer is showing that runmac32.exe is fired-off taking a handle on the MCX. The process stays there forever without returning any result.

JimTekki,

The way I have been using macros is I create a batch file containing
"C:\Program Files\Cognos\Cer3\runmac32.exe" "C\Macro\ACL.mcx"

You would schedule this batch file. This is been working for me and I have sp4 upgraded.
