SCCS4.2 MAS link handler(port 2)

Dears

I have a SCCS 4.2 server with latest patches; the server does not have a COM2 port physically configured and the MAS LinkHandler service is stopped;
also i put a dummy call pilot ip address in server configuration instead of meridian mail.
however i am still getting in Windows Event Viewer warning messages with the following
Description text:
The MAS LinkHandler Port #2 service terminated
unexpectedly. It has done this xx time(s).

Any ideas?
