SCCS 5.0 and Crystal Reports 10

I realize, thru SCCS documentation, that SCCS 5.0 only supports Cryatal Reports 9 but I need to know if there is any known compatibility issues with SCCS and Crystal Reports 10. It seems, at times, to be a little flakey with linking subreports and having them update with the main report. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

I didn't think any of the current versions of Symposium supported imports of custom designed reports containing subreports.

Please let me know if you've info to the contrary?

Actually, after bringing in a Crystal consultant we were able to get the subreports to link and the report imported into SCCS after alot of trial and error. In order for the report to work it has to be a parameter report and so do the subreports. Edit the parameter with absolute minimum selections. Then import. If it works then you can make selections to the parameter as needed untill the report fails(fail=the report will run in Crystal fine with subreports but after importing to SCCS only the main report works). Like I said in my first post....it is flakey but I found it can be done.

I was told that "Symposium 6.0" will support Crystal 10. They refered me to the Crystal Website for backwards compatibility of the reports.

Looks like you did the right thing in bringing in a Crystal Consultant.

Symposium 6 will have a 'licensed' version of Crystal built in.

This will allow you to modify standard templates or create your own if you have the skills. I saw it at Maidenhead a couple of weeks ago and it looked very powerful.
