Our Tanberg SLR32 back up drive went south and the vendor has sent us a SLR75 for replacement since the 702 Tower is EOL. Has anyone had to replace one lately? If so did you have any got-yahs. We realize will probably need to get the drivers but my other question is do we need to get special tapes for the SLR75 or can we use the old SLR 32 tapes?

As long as the new Tape drive is compatible with SYBASE you should be fine - new tapes will be needed.

I have been told that the SLR 75 drive will read the SLR 32 tapes but will not write to them, plus we would need to install new drivers etc. to get the SLR75 to work, with more down time. What we are doing is purchasing a refurbished SLR32 so that change out is apples to apples. Thanks for your reply.
