I've just installed Client on two new users PC's - Installation went v. smoothly - however when I ran a report I was given the following error;

'There was an error while trying to print report! Failed to access information from report file'

- or the reports window freezes.

Each time this occurred when I was logged in with an admin group account and I was able to see real time stats. I have other users who can run reports ok, but I cannot see any differences.

Has anyone come across this before?
Regards

Hi Blighter,

Yes, we have run across this issue before. We weren't able to pinpoint what went wrong with the client install as it appeared to go successfully. We have had to uninstall the client and reinstall.

Supernn,

You brought up a great point. We were having issues with this when we were trying to use a Toshiba printer with the SCCS. Toshiba had to install some special drivers...

IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, I BELEIVE THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF SIX PERSONS AT ONE TIME THAT CAN RUN REPORTS IN SYMPOSIUM. DO YOU HAVE MORE THAN SIX PERSONS/MANAGERS RUNNING REPORTS AT THE SAME TIME?

Hi Nortelshop,

We have more than 6 people running reports in Symposium at one time. I don't think that is it...Right now, I have 12 people logged into my Symposium...

I have only got 6 concurrent sessions and still cannot run the reports.

Is the default printer something that is installed during the client set up?

That is a configuration for the operating system of the pc itself (Start-Control Panel-Printers). If you do have printers installed: Some HP printers have been a problem for printing Symposium reports, so check to see what printers are installed. Have had some luck with deinstalling certain printers. On some older pcs, I have sometimes had to go into regedit and cleanup default printer entries - there should only be one default printer.

I also had an issue that some HP Laserjets didn't print in landscape. You then have to use a Postscript driver to let it run properly.
