So, we've got a pretty old Meridian system, which I'm trying to keep going... I am VERY much a novice with this thing...

I seem to be missing some permission necessary to assign a key on a digital set as a speed call controller.

I have Key 05 on my deskphone assigned as KEY 05 SCC 0001 . I would expect this to allow me to both dial existing stored speed dial numbers, and to add new numbers to the table.

If I store a number from the Meridian console, I can use Key 05 to dial it - works fine.

However, I cannot add new speed call numbers from the phone. After hitting Key 05, if I dial *anything* on the keypad except the number where I have a DN stored, I get reorder.

It seems to think Key 05 is a speed call *user*, not a speed call *controller*.

Ideas? Thanks!

To store Speed Call entries from a Meridian telephone

• Without lifting the handset, press Speed Call. The indicator flashes.
• Dial the Speed Call code (0-999), followed by the telephone number it represents.
• Press Speed Call. If the entry is accepted, the indicator goes off. If the entry is not accepted, the indicator continues flashing.

The fact that you are getting reorder tells me you were lifting the handset.
