ive had a request from a user who has scanned a picture with some text on into office xp what he wants to do is copy the text part of the scan and paste it into another document but office wont let him all he can do is select the whole image any ideas
 
Use a photo editor, use a select bar where you can drag and select what part of the image you want, then choose cut, paste the image onto the document taht you cut and then close the other one and dont save the cut. Paintshop pro, adobe photosop, windows imaging, think even paint has the option to do that.
 
You want to copy the text part from the first picture into an imgage, or you actualy want to paste the text part into a text document, as text ? If first is true, use any image viewer software (Paint for example). If second, use an OCR program, but it may not work perfectly, depending on the quality of the scanned image
