Hi All,

I'm wondering how I might do this in Photoshop (I'm using v7):

I've got a layer and I'd like to scale it (increase the size) in one or both directions, and I'd like the result to NOT be anti-aliased. Every time I scale it seems to anti-alias and there's got to be a way to not do that but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Just Use Shift Key While Scaling.

Good Luck.

Hi thanks for the response-

I tried the shift key while scaling, but for me it still anti-aliases. The shift key locks the aspect ratio and keeps it in proportion, but as soon as I apply the scaling, it anti-aliases...

It it actually DOESN'T anti-alias when previewing the scale, only when you apply it (for speed I'm sure).

Go to Photoshop Preferences (General) and change Interpolation to 'Nearest Neighbor'.

That's it... Thank you for the info!

Maybe on a next release there will be an easy way to toggle that or a command key to hold down to temporarily enable/disable.

Thanks again, cheers.
