Merry X'mas everybody

I would like ask a stupid question,

can I have the same scale for X- & Y- axis in Excel whan plotting graph??
i.e. lenght of 1 unit in x-axis equal to lenght of 1 unit in y-axis. Or in other words, the grid lines equal spacing in x- & y- direction.

I know that some other software have this function, but I didn't know is this function in Excel??

can anyone of you tell me?

thanks a lot

The easiest and most flexible way to set the axii is to make the graph and then click directly upon the axis of interest. The format axis popup comes up. Adjust the scale such that each axis is the same. If you have set the lengths of the axii the same, you will have symmetrical scaling.

Hope this helps,
George

Thanks for your reply, but I am sorry that I don't really understand what do you mean.

because the paper (e.g. A4) is not square, so even I set the maximum value of x-axis equal to y-axis, it come out with retangular grid, but not square that I want.

Change the plot area to be square. To ensure the height and width and the same you may have to do some experiments in VBA macros ( use the macro recorder to help you with this ).

Cheers, Glenn.
