Scale letters so they are all the same size

Unless you use a highly stylized font that has all characters the same size - like Huxley Vertical etc, the short answer to making lower case letters the same height is No.

Of course you can use All Caps or Small Caps to make all the letter the same height. Other than that you would have to change the vertical scale of each indiviual letter in lower case.

The letters can always be stretched horizontally to fill a text box via the options in the Character window, and/or you can play with the tracking also. If you're willing to give editability, you can select your text box and then go to Type menu/Create Outlines. Then just stretch the result to the desired horizontal and/or vertical size.

Hi MrBelfry

I'm new to InDesign myself so I don't know if there is an automatic way to do what you want.

But I think that if you use the Create Outlines command under the Type Dropdown you will be able do pull you text to any proportion you want.

There may be another way but if you are in a hurry this should work until someone more knowledgeable then I am answers.

Two brains with but a single thought. LOL

Is there any way to edit these posts after you have posted?

Just remember it is very bad practice to stretch any type and should be avoided at all costs!

Not on this forum, but it doesn't hurt to have two people saying more or less the same thing.
