SBS upgrade, how do i migrate the AD

Hi All
We currently have an old IBM netvista running small business server. We have just purchased a new ML350 and are going to migrate SBS over to this new hardware. My question is, how do i migrate the active directory? usernames, ous, logons etc? is it a matter of backing up the system state and restoring it to the new machine?

Sorry i forgot to add, the main thing i need to achieve by this, is to make sure that the SIDS are migrated along with the accounts as the network has a lot of users that only use the VPN and we don't want to force these user to bring there machines in to have everything reconfigured.
