Should I have to update my exchange server on SBS to sp1 and sp2 or should it do it automatically or is it not suppose to be updated on SBS? I want to install IMF but it says that it comes with sp2 so I just wanted to update it to sp2. Also if I should update it do I have to do sp1 before i do sp2? I am trying to fix a major problem with 1 of my employees somehow he recieves 1 spam message every 2 minutes and his box is flooded. I already have Trend Micro Messaging filter enabled and the one that outlook has but that is not enough. Thanks.

Do all of the SP1 updates as defined by Microsoft, in the order they specify.

Then, install Exchange SP2.

Then, configure for automatic IMF updates as mentioned in the second script at thread955-1296428

Then your Windows Updates

Then configure IMF

In ESM, you can drill down to the servers on the left, and it will show you on the right what SP you're at.

A complete SBS backup is enough.
