Hi,
I am running outlook 2007, but my server is SBS 2003, I am trying to make a public calender so my "corporate Admin" staff can see it , I want 5 people to be able to access it and I want another 25 people to be able to see it. I know this is probably simple. Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

In Outlook 2003, I go File->Folder->New Folder->Expand "Public Folders"->Expand "All Public Folders", Create a name, "Folder Contains"->Calendar Items.

Then I go to the user's PC, open Outlook, Click the shortcut arrow, and create a shortcut to the new Public Folder I've just created. Don't know if this is the official way or the "right" way but it works. If you want to set permissions (I don't want anyone changing my appointments) that is done via Exchange Manager at the server. Post back if you need directions for that.

Just to add: if you create a public folder, then you will be the "owner" and will be able to set permissions on that folder yourself within Outlook by right-clicking on it and getting Properties.

This seems to not work in outlook 2007, is their a way to create this in the back on ( on SBS)

In Outlook 2007, you should be able to go into Folder view. From there, drill down into the Public Folders. Select the Public Folder root, right-click it, and choose New. Are you able to do that?

If you can't, you can go into the Exchange System Manager and drill down into Folders -> Public Folders and pretty much do the same thing that I said above. Then you'll need to set the type of folder and assign permissions on the folder using the Permissions tab and the Client Permissions button.

THanks, I think the problem has just gotten larger. for some reason in exhcnage system mananger when I open public folders I get a SSL error.
So I am trouble shooting that.
at this point

I would run the Internet Mail Connection Wizard again, because something is wrong with the auto-generated certificate. It should match your internal server name. The name mismatch on the cert that's applied to the Default Web Site is what's causing the problem with accessing the Public Folders in the ESM.
