Howdy..

Just hit a snag with SBS 2003 while accessing a certain ssl type site.

We administer network infrastructures and are not web/security experts. I am suspecting it has to do with sbs 2003 inability to decypher aes 256 bit .. not sure

Scenario is.... Any PC node hooked up behind an WIN SBS 2003 server is not able to browse that link I provided. We have three hotel sites with SBS that are not able to access that particular link. With the other 4 hotels running Win2k3 Standard, they are all able to.

Problem:
Internet Gateway --> SBS 2003 --> Winxp( ie or firefox) = not able to browse

Works:
Internet Gateway --> Winxp (ie or firefox) = no probs access
Internet Gateway --> WIN2k3 STD --> Winxp (ie or firefox) = no probs access

Hope that is clear..

PS: Could people running SBS verify this, and perhaps if someone has a solution... if you could direct me to the right paths..

Kind Regards,

Worked fine for me...SBS2003 Premium SP1. I am using SBS as the Internet gateway. Does your client NICs' DNS point to the SBS box?

NICs.

IP: 192.168.1.34 (XP node)
GW: 192.168.1.254 (router)
DNS: 192.168.1.1 (SBS 2k3 prem SP1)

cheers..

So the clients don't point to the server as their gateway? Only for DNS? Your earlier description made it sound like clients get routed by the SBS box through the gateway. From what you just posted, it sounds like they only get their DNS from the server.

correct. clients uses the sbs dns. DNS forwarder has been set up on the DNS Server.

I've been able to connect to other https sites with no probs, except for the mentioned site.

Puzzling part is that I've just set up a brand spanking new sbs server on vmware to re-replicate the live servers and it seems like its accessible.

One possibility I can explore is if the service packs/patches & hotfixes have something to do with this.
