I've got already a domain controller SBS. I've recently installed a secondary server dedicated as a fileserver. I am getting event ID 1013 saying that I have to run this as a DC. I don't need another DC. Why is this happening? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like instead of buying Windows 2003 Standard Server, you thought you'd buy another copy of SBS, install it and just not finish the setup. That's normally what generates this kind of error.

Was this installed from SBS media, or is it truly a Windows 2003 Standard server? I've never heard of this happening in any other situation.

Not possible. I am using dell open manager install. It is not possible to mix the two. As for the finishing the install, the server has been running for the past week fine. In fact I’ve placed another post asking DFS related questions. After a week these events started to pop out. The server still runs fine. Just annoying.

Thanks
