Hi Guys,

Hope you can help.

I'm trying to assign the buttons on our SBM24 units. We have them connected to a 9650 phone and the power is all ok. We just cannot find how to assign the buttons!! This is on an IP500 V2 R6

never set one up but I think the 9650 has quite a number of buttons and you then should start with the next one.
I guess if you can't figure out how many buttons there really are, and the manual is not a great help here, then assign a button every 10 buttons and see which one works that has helped me in the past to find it.

from the Matrix
• Programmable/Contextual buttons: 15
- 4 contextual softkey buttons. Context sensitive allocation of e.g. Hold, Transfer, Conference and more.
- 3 self-labeled Appearance/Feature buttons with LED for access to 24 administered Appearances/Features at the side of the display.
- 8 Additional self-labeled Appearance/Feature buttons with LED with direct access to 2*8 Appearances/Features.

Just start programming after the last button of the 9650.

It has 24 buttons.
A trick is to disconnect the button module and play with the option "show all buttons" in manager for that user.

Make sure the firmware on the handset is correct for the build you are running on the IPO.
If it is 6.0.14 the handset should be 3_11 which will show as 3.110b in SSA

Thanks for the help guys. I sorted it in the end. The problem was the 9650 didn't have the correct firmware installed which was an issue we were having in the DHCP scope. This was fixed, the firmware upgrade took place and the SMB24 units all fired up. They programme from button 25 onwards....pretty simple really.

Thanks again

Did you notice that the phone itself also had more features after the upgrade :)

No I haven't noticed. I was to giddy having got the thing up and running.

I will check it out when I get back to site next week. We are ugrading the old IP 412 DT to IP 500v2 R6 with 120 1608i handsets so that will be fun.

Then i suggest to reprogram it from scratch.
This will give you a good overview of what still is needed and what is old and needs to be ditched.
