I need to save Visio pages as BMP files for use in a help authoring system. Visio insists on squeezing some of my text. I have re-typed the text, and moved it outside a rectangle shape. Visio still insists on doing things its own way. How can I get the best results from Visio, and use the BMP file format?

Save Visio graphic as bitmap. Open bitmap in say, MS Paint.
Select the Visio text and delete it, or just draw a white space over the existing Visio text. Then click on the text tool, the icon for which is the capital letter A. Re-Type the text. To format the text style in MS Paint, select the text, then go to the tools menu and select the text toolbar.

A more robust graphics package, like Photoshop, will probably let you do this more easily than MS Paint, but Photoshop is more complicated and I think, a little intimidating. Paint is more like a plain-vanilla utility.
Hope this helps.

When I try to save my Visio 2003 drawing as a gif, jpg, tif, or pretty much anything useful I get an error 920. This seems to be a known issue for MS but none of their fixes work (yes I have read the article addressing the issue).

Does anyone please, please, please, know a workaround?

I have tried installing Visio on a different machine, I have tried outputting it in Adobe Distiller, I have tried everything I can think of.

(My drawing is a 23' X 24' ER diagram if that makes a difference.)

Thanks so much.
