saving settings on 2d map tng 2.4

this may sound strange but every time i open my 2d map,
it opens up with the managed objects, I then have to open my each of my buisness views, right click to arrange my icons etc...

I have tried to save these settings so this would be perminant either through file save prefrences or in design mode - save. Neither save my prefrences as i would like & I have to go through the same procedure every time i open the 2d map up.

Is this normal,or is there some sort of setting I need to change...

You need to save the map and reopen the saved file.
In design mode click to file > save
When you start the 2D-Map the next time, add the /M parameter: CATNG2D /M<saved_name>

Thanks, I take it that I can not save the default map with perminant settings ??

When you start the Map without the /M parameterr, it builds up the 'live' data directly from the CORe.
The disadvantage of the 'Saved Map' is that if you add or delete objects to the CORe,
you may have inconsistency between the CORe and what you see on the Map.
In the case you must start the Map with the /J option (for TNG 2.4 see

and save the Map again.
