Does anyone happen to know any work-arounds for running a report in v3.10, and saving the results as a .CSV file when there are over 32,000 records? I'm aware of a limit of 15,000 to save as .XLS, and have encountered a limit of about 32,000 records when saving as a .CSV... but I sometimes have reports that are much larger than that.

Any tips?

Here's a simple way of getting around the Excel limitation save (as for .csv, I believe there's a macro that was posted in previous threads that addresses this).

When you run your report and you select "Save As", choose the option "Data Interchange Format Files (*.dif). Once the file is saved, go to the file and right-click on it and select "Open with..." and choose the program Excel - and there you go!

When saving as .dif, do you know how many records this allows? I also have several reports 32000+ records.

Thanks!

To date, my experience has been that all formats have hit the 32,000 record limit when exporting the data from a program. So far, only SQR's created on onsite EHRMS systems has allowed me to retrieve a file any bigger than 32,000 rows - if the apllication is hosted, I've always had to limit the number of rows by using a timeline (such as pay date or pay period ending date) or paygroups. When thing get really challenging, I run the program uninhibited and look for information near row 30,000 that will assist in breaking the output into groups that can be exported. In all these cases, I've used MS Access to create the reports or data files needed.
