Hello

I need to save an Access query as a CSV file in order to export it to our accounts package. The accounts package supports CSV so once i have that i should be ok but im not sure how to save my query in access as a CSV.

Any help much appreciated

Daniel

Daniel,

If you go to the File menu and choose Save As. You can export the query as CSV file. Be sure the query is saved.

When you are in the Save As Screen, you'll need to change the file type to "Text File" before Access will save it properly. Then, choose your file name. Now, just continue through the proper steps in the Export Wizard.

If you need to create a macro to do this, you might review the help file on TransferText.

Let me know if you need more help. God Bless,
Mike

Yes, I believe in Jesus. ;-)
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12, KJV)

You can right click the Query and select Export. In file types scroll down the list and look for *.txt,*.csv... in the file name box add the file extention .csv to your file name otherwise Access will export it as a .txt file. You can use Excel to view your results before you import it in your accounting package

Thanks for your replies. Much appreciated. I'll work on it tomorrow.

Mike-

I'm glad that you added that "If you need to create a macro to do this, you might review the help file on TransferText." This made my search for documentation a lot easier!
