Wondering If Its Possible?
Is there a way to save an output file into the same database that your working off of.Heres what iam trying to accomplish: theres a icon(macro)in a form to run the commmand to do a action to OutPut a report in a format snp.,htlm,ect. Inside the database theres a table that can hold a OLE Object could it be possible to save yout output file into this table istead of exporting out of the database, So i can view a quote or keep tract of my reports that i want to save. The format that i consider using is snapshot.
thanks

I don't know if what you are asking about is possible. Off the top of my head, what might work is to create a table called "reports" or something, and then create an update query containing all the same fields as the report as well as the date/time. Then when the report runs, have the update query run at the same time to add a record to the reports table.

But i really need to save the entire report in
snapshot format.Reason;dont have staff to run that kind of stuff.Need to have a form so it could
be user friendly.

Why not save it on a server for people to view? Why do you have to save it in snapshot format within the database? the report/data is always there for people to view. Just make a toolbar to save it in Snapshot format. Or maybe I'm missing the point? I don't see the point of saving multiple copies of reports/data, sorry.

Thanks for the reply "GingerR"
1.The report is created by the MDB in the field(out of the office)and runings reports(quotes) for customer,so what that applies is no server availble.

2.Does not Have to be Snapshot, corrected me if iam wrong
the only way u could save the report in a MDB table is by converting it in to a different formant, then save it into a table with a field that holds a OLE Object.

The hole point is for saving multiple reports is making a report (quote) to be more productive in order to see what was the customer quoted or for future refernce (database).

But the data is IN the database - already saved. If someone "quotes" a customer, you could just save the quote date, or the status of "QUOTED" along with the data as of that date in the table where the data already is. A "report" is just a visual representation of data, and at the push of a button is always available. Maybe what you need to do is synch up the quotes that are made in "the field" with a database running on a server at "the office".
