I have my form saved as an exe and it's ready for user input...however, once the user inputs information, i'd like to be able to have them choose save from the file menu and save the information and form (say, in my documents). I have the menu and get the save dialog box, etc., but i can't seem to get the code to make it actually save. Either it's way too simple and i'm making it hard, or it's way over my beginners' head. Please help. Thank you all

What only displays the text? Can you explain but it still displays only the text, not the form (controls)? If you choose to battle wits with the witless be prepared to lose.

Sorry. When I search for the file, it is displayed as a txt file with ONLY the information i put in, such as whatever was typed in the text box and value 1 if check box is checked. So it's basically the same as before except before changing the code and adding the second button notepad displayed textbox1, checkbox1, etc as well as the information. I guess what I meant is my form with the input didn't display, just notepad with the info.

Command2 will load the info from the text file whos name is in the txtName textbox back into the form, setting all the controls to the way they were saved. Is that not what you were looking for? If you choose to battle wits with the witless be prepared to lose.

No, I'm sorry, I guess I didn't make everything clear (though I'm trying). When I save it and call it back up, I want it to look EXACTLY like the exe EXCEPT with the information the user typed in. So it will always be saveas so the original doesn't get changed, but when I open Mrs. Smith's quote, it will look just like a blank one, only with her information in it.

Thank you for all your help. I guess I'm just trying to do much here. I'm moving on to explore other options, such as the db issue. I do appreciate all your help, though. Any other thoughts on the issue would be appreciated if they happen to come to anyone though.
