Saving images for the web 1

There are a few possible explanations I think. I'll start with the most likely explanation first.
Are you using an AOL dial-up connection to view your web graphics? If so then you need to be aware that AOL actually compresses web graphics by default (even more than they are already compressed). This will mean that your graphics will look fine on your hard drive, but when uploaded to a site, and then viewed over an AOL dial-up connection they can look crappy.
If this is the case then follow the instructions at this link:
Once you have made the changes to your settings you will need to clean out your temporary internet files folder, or next time you visit the site the crappy version of the graphics may be called from your local drive, rather than downloading them again from the site.
If this isn't the problem then post back to this thread.

Another thought Porbandar. If you are calling the images directly into your browser(by that I mean typing in Then your browser may automaticaly resize them if they are larger than the browser window. This will cause distortion.

Hi, I don't use AOL but I loaded another image which was created by a design agency and posted it on to the website. This image is not blurry at all. So I am not sure if it the way I am saving the original file in photoshop or illustrator....

Hi porbandar! try this...
(in CS - not sure of v7) in the Save for Web dialogue, next to the 'Quality' slider there is an icon (circle in a square), you can save the image, but use the text or a channel to make areas of the image higher quality than other areas.
If you search help files "modify quality" you should get more info.
Not sure if this is your problem but it may help.
Moe: It could have been a real ugly situation, but luckily I managed to shoot him in the spine.
