Saving CRv9 Reports to CRv8.5 format

Can I save a CRv9 report to CRv8.5 format? I am working on a very tedious report that will ultimately need to be opened in CRv8.5. An earlier post mentioned that version 8 saved to version 7. Hoping version 9 saves downward also.

Unfortunately not.

8.X went to 7, 9 has no backward save as method.

Develop in CR 8.X, as CR 9 can open CR 8 files.
