Man MS did a doozy on this one. The address book by windows default is <user name>.wab MS Outlook cannot import the address book from a wab file...only outlook express can. When you save someone's mail and contacts (the PST file) from Outlook, it saves the addresses as Contacts. They are no longer in your address book. The help files on this state that you just import the WAB file into outlook express and then transfer them to Outlook....but when you use Outlook, the address aren't put into a wab file, nor are they in the PST file from Outlook......what Nazi system did MS use for the address in the full version of Outlook?

just a reply to get it back to the top of the list where it can be seen.

The short answer:
Be sure the Outlook Contacts folder is set to be used as an e-mail address book. All versions of Outlook can import from a CSV file which can be exported from Windows Adddress Book.
