Saving a message as new (Audix)

Our company installed a Definity/Intuity solution several months ago. Things are going well however one feature is missed from our old switch. After listening to an important voicmail people want to save the message as "new" so they will still have a message indicator on their phone.

That way it will remind them that they have an important message to listen to.

I have looked at documentation and looked through the Intuity features and cannot find anything.

The only thing I can think of is to add a comment to the message and send it back to the subscribers mailbox. That way it will be a new message. However that takes up memory and is a little bit of a hassle.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Have you tried the **4 after you listen to the message. The will hold as new and keep the MSG-WT light on.

Thanks
ED

1a2 to ip I seen it all

I believe that if after listing to the message, if u press **4 it will keep the message in the new folder and keep the light on.
the book says

"Hold message in **4 or **H
category"

I have a Intuity Audix R5.1. When a new message has arrived after listening to the message, Audix will prompt you to "respond, forward, etc" If you hit **H is will hold it as a new message. **H will hold any message in its CURRENT catagory. ie New, Unopened or Opened. So they will have to do it the First time they hear a message. Mind you the system will only hold a new, unopened, opened message for as long as you defined it. Any of your subsribers can hit *H to here a list of the "hidden" options in any of the menus of Audix.

In the future everything will work...

Damn I type slow.

In the future everything will work...

Thanks everybody!!!!

I feel like an idiot however I have been looking for documentation for "new" and not for "hold".

Should have known it was staring me right in the face.

They make the documentation cryptic, otherwise all us people that answer questions would be out stealing hubcaps or getting in other trouble. It is Avayas' way of reducing crime.

and reducing the population. Just thinking for myself.

In the future everything will work...
