Hi,

Is there any way to recover a Word file after the program is closed? I was working on a Word document and saving every few minutes by clicking on the floppy disk. Then I inserted the document into an email and sent it, but when I checked the file it was missing a substantial part, and when I looked at the "modified date" it showed last night, although I modified it this morning and hit "save" more than once.

Any hope of recovery ... and why would this happen?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

And do not EVER use a floppy disk (or any other non-HD device) to save original files. EVER.

The what do I do with all of those 8-inch floppies from the IBM S/34 days?

You could always build something.. kind of like building a model structure out of playing cards. [wink]

Oh you can use them (assuming you have a device that will read them!). Just do not save original data onto them. Copied data...ummmm, sure...I guess.

This in fact emphasizes my point. I have a hard disk. It is 17 inches (43 cm) in diameter. Rather large. There is likely no (functioning) device in the world for it now.

I use it as a wind chime. Oh, and to show kids. They find it impossible to believe; they think I am pulling their leg.
