Hello,

We are running our Avaya system on a linux virtual machine. We had a couple complaints that the voicemail to email piece was not working along with a couple complaints that missed calls weren't showing up on the users phone. We decided to reboot the phone system through the Avaya manager. When the system came back, voicemail to email started working and so did the missed calls notification on the phones. However, we did notice that all saved voicemails for every user were gone for some reason. We aren't quite sure why they were removed. We can console into the machine but are not sure where the voicemails are stored or how to restore them to the users phone.

Thanks for your help

Go to opt/vmpro/
You can find everything there.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Great, thanks. Any reason it would delete voicemails on a reboot? Also, i'm looking at /opt/vmpro/BackUp/Scheduled and it doesn't look like there are any backups. That can't be good.

Did you wait long enough? It takes voicemail longer than the system to get back up and running. It shouldn't delete messages upon reboot. Unless they for some reason were emailed off when vm to email started working again.

I thought of that but we gave it two hours and the VM's still didn't come back and i just checked again and they still aren't there.
