I have a macro setup that runs a bunch of update queries which actually updates the record (last record) in a form that is currently open. Basically I want to type in a unique identifier, somehow save it, so that when I run my macro it populates the rest of the info on the form. The only way this can happen is if the table is saved it seems but I dont want to have to shut down the form to do this...

I wanted to put this into the macro, what "Action" would I use? RunCode? Sorry I'm not good with VBA

Maybe I'm stating this wrong - maybe the record doesn't have to be SAVED per say, what I noticed that needs to happen is before I run the update query to update info for the current record, I need to click on the left hand portion of the form where there is a little pencil and it turns to a right-arrow, this in turn "unlocks" the record to be updated. This is what i'm trying to achieve ultimately so the current record can update.

Action: Run Command

Command: SaveRecord
