Hi all,

How could I save the STDOUT that is displayed after a command line issue of system("FTP ..")?
I want to be able to capture the screen output of that system call to FTP in a text file.

Thanks in advance!

Gary

in unix you don't need perl even

just do

script
here is what you type and what you get back at the console)......
....

exit #when yoy are done)
you get a file typescript
which is the context of everything between script and exit

Thanks for the reply svar.
I'm actually running this script via a scheduler on a windows 2000 machine, so I want to be able to capture (in a text file) the actions going on with the FTP session, as a sort of log file.

Any ideas?

I am not familiar with Win 2000 scheduler. But is this
a full perl script(ftplib) or some internal windows
scheduler?

I run my winnt/tasks/add scheduled tasks daily with a Net ping script to a text file with no problems. Just set your times according to how often you want to run the script similiar to unix cron.
