I Get the following error message when I type "save" on my solaris 2.6 system (LGTOclnt) 6.1.4:
save: SYSTEM ERROR: 'alabama' is not a registred client

First I installed LGTOclnt 7.1.2 on my client and started nsrexecd daemon.
I added my client alabama on my backup server as I did with all my other working solaris clients, and started nsrexecd daemon.
I can ping from both directions, and find the machinnames reverse and forward lookups with nslookup.

Anyone that knows what the problem might be?

Hi Novelli,

Unfortunately I already checked this and the servers file is correct. I also started the nsrexecd daemon like this:

root@alabama> /usr/sbin/nsrexecd -s nevada

(nevada is my backupserver)

But it didn't help...
Any other ideas?

try to add in bosts hosts files to add both ip addresses (the one of the client and the backup server + long and short name)

Just to see if the problem comes from dns

Already tried that. I can find the both machines with nslookup command from the server and the client, but I also added the hosts in /etc/hosts on both machines with and without the domainname suffix. Still the same problem.

I also added a /etc/noroute file to ensure the routing get right.

Everything seems right, but still the error occur.

Hi,

did you changed the IP and/or Hostname of this box ?

If yes, you may have to recreate the client in networker

Make sure Alabama is in the alias field of the Client Definition

I would try doing a manual save from the client and see if it pops the same error.

From the client, try:

save -s <server> -vvv <path>

good luck!
