Hi!

One question about the Livelink-Explorer: I'm searching for a way, to save files into the Livelink-Explorer-Area from other software-products like Adobe Acrobat Reader. Is there any way?

The idea is to select the Livelink-Explorer Area from the menu "Save as ..." - just like a normal folder!

Thx for ya answers

I am unfamiliar with the product called Livelink Explorer but a similar product called Authorlink by Formark ,which uses LAPI has integrated Add On's for Microsoft Office,Which has menu items for 'Save to Livelink' options which works for word, excel and outlook.I believe if you post this in the Opentext discussion area in KB somebody who has used this product in their organization will come out with thier experiences.Other than that since the 'Save As' option needs to write to the livelink server/DB/EFS rather than the file system( there is a difference) you are looking at writing your own code which integrates livelink with the opther API's of Adobe,Office etc.The 9.5 release of livelink offers in place editing(thru WEBdav) of Office documents also ,so that may be a direction also.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Thx for your reply! So, there's no way to make the Livelink-Explorer Area available in all applications - just the way to integrate about the API's of each application( I think, this is a lot of work). There's no tool and no setting, which can reach this feature?!

Hmmm ... So, just another question: How is my english? I am german and have some problems in writing english texts ... Is it understandable?!

Thx,
Jan.

Livelink Explorer has its own SDK called XAPI and can be downloaded from the Knowledge Center. I have never used it though...

This is only a suggestion but if you're familiar with C++ maybe a solution could be to develop your own Windows Explorer Integration of LL using LAPI.
