i am still new to quark, & i cant remember exactly how i collected for output before. when i start to collect, it asks "save in" do i want to make a new folder for this & then after it is all finished collecting, then save that folder to a disc ?? or can i do it at the same time & "save in" to a disc ??
any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
June

When collecting a file for output, the first thing I do before going to the 'collect for output' option is to simply save my current document. I can simply 'Save' and it saves it where it is currently located. Or 'Save as' to store a copy with a slightly different in the same current or in a new location (in case I wish to refer to the previous version).

Anyway, before trying to collect a file for output, I save it first.

Then, when you click 'collect for output', Quark will simply ask where you wish to collect the document and what parts of it you wish to collect.

If you try to collect before saving, Quark will ask if you wish to save it first, and where, before moving on to the 'collect for output' command.

Yep, save first...but what I like to do is then create a new file on the desktop called whatevernameCFO and then when I select file and collect for output, I direct it to save to the new folder. This way keeps the confusion down and then if you need to down save the QXP doc, you can open it in the new folder and do so.
