Please advise why my adobe 5.0 Save button (I used menu edit feature for the File->Save as.... for my button
action) doesnt work on some of my forms on the web. On some browsers it works and others it doesnt do anything. All my browsers are Netscape. But some of the Netscape workstations it doesnt save but will work on about half our workstations. Are there any settings or something I could check or change??

Yes, you could change your browser LOL

To be honest i always stay away from Netscape, i only code for Internet Explorer. ;-) Have Fun...

I am NOT inconsequential.. and I refuse to deal with @$$holes that will not code for W3C standards, and I refuse to give Bill Gates the satisfaction of owning me.. but many people are happy to be puppets When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

You will not find a bigger mac head than me. (read previous posts) But I've fought long and hard for apple, got into heated debates with all the PC users around me (an thats alot!), and won. I just sick of apples bullshit marketing and maneuvers that are jaw-droppingly stupid... and after all I've done to sell computers for them. Apple deserves what it gets for not being smart enough to realize that people dont buy $300 video cards to make exel go faster. And Netscape, while not microsoft, is something much worse... AOL/Timewarner. Lets face it, if apple could have made a better browser than IE5, it would have by now. BEHOLD! As Steve Jobs introduces us the latest in desk-lamp technology!

Viol8ion, you should think twice before calling people @$$... or puppets.

When coding for internet explorer you can do whatever you want(or almost). When you're done, everything looks great even the special features you added BUT netscape won't even show your layers where they should be... Why bust my balls for people like you, who don't even give a f... about others and are stubborn???

I'm a PC user and i never talk about Mac users like YOU did about us.

It's funny how even Mac users have so much problems with viewing web content on their Mac. Way to go GENIUS, think and/or read before bashing on the others....
Have Fun...(try at least...) LOL

THE MAC OS IT STILL A BETTER OS! Its just too darn bad there will never be enough support.

I can code pages for Netscape and make them do fancy things also, but these pages will not work properly in IE... or in Opera, or in Lynx, or in Mozilla... if you are designing a page for business, then it has to take into consideration that people are using different browsers and different OS's including linux, Mac, etc., and the pages should work gracefully in ALL current browsers on ALL current OS's. the fancy effects that look so swell in IE should at least degrade gracefully in other browsers without affecting the surfing experience. I despise the elitist attitude, however, that says that I or anyone has to change our habits at the whim of a designer that will not take the time to ensure compatibility with known standards but would rather use proprietary tricks that only one browser can see.

I refuse to use IE on a regular basis (though my sites function properly with it, as well as NN4.7) because it allows too many security risks. MS is way too slow in releasing patches to the public.

Also, Sharky, I was referring to the person that called me inconsequential.. no person out there is inconsequential. When I design pages, I try to ensure that they work well in all browsers, and assuming the person surfing has freedom of choice with their browser, and assuming they understand the limitations of each, such as Mozilla and Opera having limited java support and almost no DHTML support.. I make sure that the design of my pages does not depend on ceretain functions that are not universal.

Oh, and I agree 100% with the layers and NN4.7, which sucks big time... 6.0 seems to be better but does not work witha lot of DHTML that IE and NN4.7 handled well...

My point is, it is NOT wasting time to consider "people like me" who choose to not follow the crowd. When Gates gets his way and wipes out all competition, and then all computing is pay as you use over his dedicated network, and he can see everything you say or do online... and do not think for a second that is not part of the MS plan (all MS products spy on you and keep permanant records of all emails and web traffic, the newest release of Media Player tracks you personally and all sites, music, videos that you download).. so don't blame those of us that while having nothing to hide, do not appreciate any corporation having that much information on us... sorry.. I ramble on...

oh, and I am a PC user, and a linux user.. never used a Mac cause I can't afford one.. LOL

anyway.. no real offence was meant, but when I am flamed, I flame back...

toodles
