save an email attachment to the server

I am trying to take an attachment from an email and store it on the server. After it's done I'll delete the message so it can go through the process again. I can read the message just fine, I can remove messages, I know how to create a file on the server, but I have no idea how I would make just an attachment of an email save to a file. Any ideas?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. I'm using the imap extensions in php. Sorry I don't know too much about this stuff but thanks for trying to help!
