The server have crash and we have reinstall it. Since there, we can install SAV10 client with no problem.

The problem is when we install SAV 9, there is a problem. The client see the server but he is not be able to connect to the server.

Before the crash, we be able to do it but now, nothing happen, all the client with SAV 9 aren't able to connect to server.

I try to uninstall and reinstall SAV 9 and nothing happen.

do you mean it can't see it when it tries to look for it during the installation, or does it install but doesn't update?

If you installed 10.0 and are getting a blue screen error you my download the lastest symevent file from norton and update your server.

For answer your question, I can see the server, he recognize him and he complet the installation. But he can't connect to him, the client he not active on the server. Even all the clients we have with SAV9 are not log on the server.

I think we have found the solution on the symantec system center console.
In the server tuning options, you have this options: Allow this server to manage 9.X and earlier clients and servers.

We gone see when we be able to reboot the server.

When we have install it at the first time, we didn't have to check this option, he was able by default.

Thank you, maybe if it don't solve the problem, I could ask another time for help.

You found yourself a solution. Symantec Antivirus 10 uses a secury method to transport data between machines and the protocol it uses is TCP. That used to be UDP.

Anyway. Also make sure you make a backup of the PKI folder in case your server blows up... You will need that in the event of disaster recovery.
