We are thinking of going with a two-way satellite connection to the Internet and I was wondering how popular it is and what problems come with it. Starband.com is the website I was referred to by our consultant, but I'd like to find out more about it from the real world......

Thanks for any input!

try checking the reviews at dslreports.com

also starbandusers.com

I have supervised one home installation. Check the reviews on dslreports and follow their advice.

Make sure the installer knows what they are doing and points the satellite in a knowledgeable manner.

It is decent on downloads, don't try voip, gaming etc where uploads are required (email uploads are acceptable).

If you can get cable or dsl, get it. If you live way out like me, it sure beats dialing up (except when you have to pay the bill each month)
