I have an Asus A7V880 mb I currently have it config'd for SATA (WIN XP). I want to install an IDE HDD that already has a version of linux on it. I need to erase the linux, so I can re-install it (it has a version that I dont want on it) I have tried the C/S pin setting, and the slave pin setting, but my pc still boots directly from the IDE drive. Any suggestions are welcome, Thank you

I'm not sure that I'm following correctly,

But if you want to boot to the SATA drive (XP), even when you have the IDE drive (linux) installed, you will probably need to change the boot device order in your BIOS.

My boot sequence isnt set to IDE first, It is supposed to hit up my SATA first. When i have the IDE drive in my machine, it boots from that first.
