Hi,

I've had to reimage our s8300c with the CM4.0 CD. The AIW is failing at numerous stages of the install, and I've found a bunch of errors like "Media Gateway add failed:1 00000000 5bc5 "add" is an invalid entry; please press HELP".

In fact, if i "grep -i "invalid entry" /var/tmp/aiw/aiw.log", there are tons of "invalid entry" messages for numerous commands.

If I login manually (as dadmin) to "sat", if I type "change help", i only see 1 option listed (system-parameters). I used to be able to do many tasks like "change cor" and "change feature-access-codes", all of which say "invalid entry".

The system is licensed properly. In fact, I'm using the same license from when it worked. How did "sat" get into a restrictive state with so many missing commands? I've tried everything from rebooting, upgrading firmware, and doing an nvram initialize.

While I'm here, in numerous parts of the install, in the failed error, one of the items states,
"Verify that a SAT change command is not active. ".
How do I verify that the SAT change command is not active?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get full access to SAT? Are my permissions incorrect? Is it stuck in some state that requires a simple command?

Thanks.

Usually you get a restricted set of SAT commands after a system is loaded if the license or authentication files haven't properly installed. Try reloading both files, log into ASA and perform a "save trans", and then "reset system 4".

To verify a SAT command is not active, from ASA type "status logins". Note if a "change" command is active and the login id at the right side of the page (will be a number i.e 0 or 1). Then enter "reset login-id x" to knock down the associated login. Unfortunately, these commands won't work until you get the license/auth file problem straightened out first.

It worked! Thank you! Strangely, I had the authentication file installed already.
I wonder how it "lost" that status.

It's not that uncommon. As they say, to err is human, but to really screw things up it takes a computer. Glad I could help.
