Hi Guys
I have to amend a Very old (V6) set of SAS programs that include various "Call notify('parm1',parm2,parm3) statements.
I am fine with the SAS statements, but have no idea what these call notify statements are doing.

I have looked up the relevant commands on the internet, but the explanations seem to assume a degree of knowledge on the part of the reader that I simply do not have.

There is (of course) no documentation on the code.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me (in plain English please , rather than just quoting a manual) what is the physical effect of executing these statements?

Thanks in advance.

Lilly

Sorry, I've not done any work with SAS/AF. You might want to try the L-SAS forum, there's at least 1 guy there who knows SAS/AF. I remember him well as he was a complete a55hat. He does however seem to have an in depth knowledge of SAS/AF.

Good luck.

Call Notify sends a method to a control that is identified by its name. The method can work on any type of control even another method, using the NOTIFY function you can pass parameters to the control as well.

I think that you may need to change some of the code of the method to upgrade you app, but the call may or may not stay the same.

If you need any help let me know.
