I am in the process of setting up system performance monitoring.

I have sar set up like this:

0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * 0-6 /usr/lib/sa/sa1
0 23 * * 1-5 /usr/lib/sa/sa2 -s 1:00 -e 23:40 -i 300 -A

My questions ise:
How do I view the sa2's output?

Any recommendations on using sar?

sar -P <processor or ALL> will tell you cpu activity on 1 or more of the processors

Sar only shows the history of cpu and i/o waits.

Its doesnt show us the memory part.

Jim:
exactly, thats what I been using.

0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50,55 * * * 0-6 /usr/lib/sa/sa1
0 23 * * 1-5 /usr/lib/sa/sa2 -s 1:00 -e 23:40 -i 300 -A

I know what the first sa1 does...but what does sa2 do? I am not sure what that line really does.
