Hi
I am trying to install SAP R/3 4.7 installation in my desktop as a standalone system. The environment is Windows 2000 with Oracle database. I am reproducing the log which I got. The problem is OCI.dll is not found for uploading the export database thro R3ldctl.exe. Please advise where should I find the OCI.dll and where it should be for rectifying the error.

I got exactly the same problem. Did you resolve it finally?

Sir:
I would like to install IDES 4.6b as a standalone on my laptop. Could you please share your views on this and secondly how do i get the CD's for 4.7 version. thank you

ram

I am also looking for 4.7 installation CD's. I have access to BW 3.1 and BW 3.1 IDES installation CD's for trade. I am trying to learn BW at home.

If you use the Microsoft ODBC Driver or OLE DB Provider for Oracle, take the following into account: • Both the ODBC driver and OLE DB provider provided with Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) require SQL*Net , or later. You must install the Oracle client software, or later, on the client (that is, DB2) computer.

to work with Oracle client software, the client's (DB2 ) registry must be modified
Unable to load DLL (oci.dll)

1. Make sure you have the Oracle client installed.
2. A security issue. Give User install the modify priveliges on

the Oracle directory. When you do this, make sure it is

the DRIVE where the oci.dll file is.

I had Oracle directories on two drives.

Oracle External Procedure because I think it's
External Procedure from DB2 to Oracle

Other notes but that is in French about

Oracle External Procedure

Could you write me at fsalle2002@yahoo.fr for more information

rpadman,

It is definitely possible to install and run BW as well as R/3 IDES products from a laptop.

I run BW 3.1 IDES on a Sony VAIO laptop with the following configuration:
- 2.8ghz p4
- 1gig of ram
- 60 gig internal HDD
- 200 gig external HDD (usb2/firewire)

I believe a 60 gig drive would be just enough to install, but would not much room on the hdd.

You have the option, during installation to specify the drives you want to use for installation of the database. If you like, you can gain some performance by splitting between the internal and external HDD, but on a single processor laptop with 1gig of ram, this will be neglegable. I would recommend partitioning the external hdd and using it to install.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

- If you boot your laptop without the external HDD attached, several services will fail to start. This is nothing to be concerned with.
- If you are planning to use the laptop while not connected to a network, you will want to install Microsoft Loopback Adapter and configure it properly before installing IDES.

-- good luck

Hi rglight,
Could you please inform us about your Sony VAIO Laptop operating system on which you have installed SAP IDES 4.7.

Also, could you please help us with the installation.

Thanks
RL

I am trying to learn SAP and looking for IDES and BW. If someone have these please email me to or direct me where should I be able to get it at ashesh_sheth@yahooo.com to help me to learn SAP.

Thanks.

ashesh, you have to differentiate.R/3 IDES or BW IDES. They both have IDES version.

Who's that girl! :)

Hi,
I was trying to install SAP 4.7 in windows 2000, I have followed the following steps:

1. Installation of Loop back adapter
2. Installation of Oracle
3. Installation of J2SDK
4. Installtion of Kernel
4.1 Clicked on IMMC from the folder "Kernel\NT\I386\MMC"
4.2 Clicked on R3SETUP from the folder "Kernel\NT\COMMON"

At this point I get this error:
