And how are you feeling? We're all still thinking about you.

I just got off the phone with Dave and he's doing very well.

He has completed his chemo treatment and the latest rounds of tests show no signs of cancer. Of course he remains vigilant and will continue to have tests to catch any recurrence early.

He's regrets not having posted in a while, but the good news is that's because he's very busy with his job and other duties. He hopes to touch base with us some time next week.

So all is well in Santa land.
[cheers]

That's great news cc. In no way do I want to hijack this thread but I lost my partner to cancer on December 8th, it was a particularly aggressive strain and he lasted only a year once diagnosed. So I am delighted with Dave's news that he got the all clear and, as you say, that he remains vigilant in it's detection.

Patrick

Thanks for that update Cajun. I was beginning to worry a bit myself. Even when he's busy, he usually has something to pass along.
@Patrick - Sorry for your loss Patrick. It weighs a little heavy with me right now because my wife is battling lung cancer right.
My best wishes for you.

Paul

Great news CC! I can't wait to see [santa]'s words of wisdom again soon!

Paul and Patrick,
I don't know of anyone that hasn't been touched by cancer. I lost a grandmother in 2001 (at age 88) and an aunt in 2006 (at age 60). The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life has a great slogan... Remember, Hope, Fight Back. That's all we can do sometimes. Peace to both of you, and everyone else that's come in contact with this dreadful disease.

Good news CC, I was only thinking about Dave this morning. Paul, Patrick - I share your pain having lost my Dad to prostate cancer (or rather the eventual 'firework' spread) last year. Best wishes to you both and to Paul's wife.

Thank you, CC, (and others) for checking up on me.

It's true...I'm not dead (yet)...but then neither are the rest of you (which is great news all around) !

Since I have post-lunchtime shoulder tappers already descending upon my desk, I must get back to the grind, so I'll copy and paste my bried update from STC:
Santa @ STC said:
So sorry for my absence, My Good Friends ! I appreciate, so much, all of your kind wishes.

This is my week for my annual screenings (with cameras, digits, magnifying glasses, et cetera) amongst three different specialists, so I should have a news update later in the week. I feel fine...no symptoms (never have had any actually), so I would be surprised if there are any results of concern.

As CC mentioned in the original post of this thread, I've been way up past my eyeballs with job-related responsibilities. I'm usually the last one out of the parking lot at night, leaving at 9, 10, 11 p.m....2, 3, 4 a.m...or simply not leaving the office (which can be pretty rank for my poor co-workers the next day <grin>).

I have been unforgivably remiss in not updating in many weeks/months, my blog of this adventure, (at "DaveHuntFamily.blogspot.com") but I shall try to remedy that at the end of the week after I have news to share.

Again, bless you all for your kind thoughts and concern. I'll try to be less absent.

Best regards,

[santa]Mufasa

Hi,
I was happy to see you posting again in the Oracle forums - especially your usual pithy replies ( and no, I do not lisp [wink])

Anyway, Santa, good to see you back!
