SAN Configuration messed up!

help,
i cant assign the primary and distributed servers,,, well, i can, but it doesnt hold. Should i replace the database with a new one? any services that i can stop or start to fix this problem?

we are running BS 9 build 2100 on windows 2003.

this is fixed, we have two servers fighting to be the primary.
i ended up zeroing out the database then running device configuration again.

on a side note...why are my tapes marked with the prefix A-
it used to be
I - incremental
W - weekly
M - monthly
