Hey there
we currently have an extension (8994) that we would like to have the voicemail enabled on two different phones. This number is what we use for our helpdesk and is the number for the ACD. I have programmed a key on each 5330 set but the getting no message lights when we test them. We have an external voicemail system (NUPOINT) and currently are not using the internal mitel voicemail on our 3300.

EX:

ACD# 8994

Phone 1:
EXT: 5717
programmed Voicemail Key - line type is Message Waiting Indication
Voicemail mailbox is 5717 and alternate is 8994

This is repeated for the second phone.

Any help from the mitel gurus would be appreciated :)

You would need to program a Message Waiting Indication key for DN 5717 on the phones you want to have the MWI for the mailbox, and assign 5717 as the mailbox's extension in NuPoint.

I did that... still wont show a message light on the key I programmed for 5717. Shouldn't 5717 have the 8994 programmed as the alternate mailbox?

When I program the Message Waiting Indication key on Extension 5717 it wont allow me to put 8994.
I get an error "the directory number is in use elsewhere". Suggestion? I want 8994 to be the acd.

A limitation of 3300 platform, ou cannot have message wait indicators for ACD paths, Hunt groups or ring group numbers, hence the message received "the directory number is in use elsewhere" popping up.

What about voicemail to email integration?

Inter flow to a multicall key which has a reroute always to vm. This then becomes your mailbox to set a MWI key for.

If you have hordesk users I just use key 96 as the multicall so,it's hidden from the users.

Not sure if you got this sorted.. But thought I would give my 2 cents..

In the ACD Paths form -> 'path unavailable answer point directory number' specify the mailbox number. As mentioned, you cannot use the ACD Path number so choose a new one - Perhaps 8995.

Create a single line or a dummy extension (perhaps create an extension in users and devices - generic SIP or something - I think it will use a license though..) - Number the extension 8995.

In call rerouting - route this dummy extension to voicemail 'always'.

Dial 8995 and ensure you get to voicemail. If you dont, check config again.

You should now be able to create MWI keys on all extensions (hopefully..)

I can the voicemail to work. But how can I check it from the the sets? I go to program the key and it says line in use?

There's probably an existing MWI pending on the DN you're trying to add the keys for. One of the little quirks of the SX-2000 & 3300, you can't add/remove an MWI appearance for a DN that has one active. Use the Lights Test in the System menu of the NuPoint to turn off the MWI, program your keys, then run the lights test again to return the MWI to current value.

Ok so I have an extension I can use and not programmed. Ok just to clarify

8994 is the number people call
I am using extensions 5711 and 5717
I have created all of acds, etc
I am using 7001 for the path interflow dialing list, you press 1 you get this or it goes directly to voicemail.
What I need to do now is be able to check the voicemail for extension 8994 on 5711 and 5717.
I do have 8993 I can use but I can get it linked to 8994?
Thanks :)

You need to program a key on the phones as a MWI for DN 8994. As I mentioned in my previous post, if 8994 already has MWI active against it, you'll have to turn it off before programming the keys.

IF I understand you and your setup correctly (8994 being the ACD path AND the message bank..) Its saying the line is in use because it is! If you route 8894 to go to a different mailbox on no answer (for this purpose lets say 8995 is a free DN so lets make that a mailbox) create a dummy extension or single line - you should be able to program a MWI (8995) on as many extensions as you want
